JEREMY MCKAY

OFF THE WATER

Residing in the town of Creswell, Oregon Jeremy McKay patiently awaits the next tournament. In the meantime, Jeremy exercises any chance he gets to keep himself in top shape to perform even after multiple long hard days on the water. Jeremy also takes the time to gather around his supportive wife and two daughters Hailey and Taylor as well as the newest addition to the family, Fischer, the little boy Jeremy has always wanted.

SKILLS

Very important skill to aquire is being able to maintaining a positive mental attitude under any and all circumstances. The confidence to fish any given technique to get bites in the current given conditions.

MOTIVATION

I love the challenge of breaking down the current conditions and putting together a pattern every time I’m on the water.

  • Reaction Baits
  • Flipping/Pitching/Punching
  • Frogs/Topwater
  • Swimbaits/Big Baits
  • Finesse Fishing
  • Shallow Water
  • Deep Water
On the water, what do you consider being some of your weaknesses?

Lack of time spent on ‘out of state’ bodies of water. Which can also be a strength forcing me to fish the moment rather then past experiences.

What are some of your notable accomplishments?

2nd place finish on Lake Shasta in 2018 at my first WWBT Pro/Am event

Finished 6th in overall 2018 WWBT season points.

What are some of your favorite baits?

Hands down, a flipping jig is at the top of my list and any moving baits that allow me to cover a lot of water.

What are your favorite lakes to fish?

Tenmile Lake, Oregon
Columbia River, Oregon
California Delta, California

What are some of your favorite set-ups? (rod/line/hook)

Enigma HPT 7’-6” Heavy Flipping rod, 65lb Power Pro braid in hi-vis yellow, 3/8-1/2oz D&L flipping jig.
