THE ANGLER

Tai continues fishing at the highest levels that the western landscape provides.  The main motivation for fishing is to eventually win at the regional level. He’s been so close so many times. He just wants to close the deal on one in the near future. I created a social media group called “AZ Anglers” 8 years ago. Today, we have over 17K members and we’re still growing. I use the group to share my passion for fishing and to help promote the sport. Please feel free to look us up and join. I’m engaged to Ylisha Hernandez with 2 beautiful kids. Jayden (5) and Kayla (3). I’m currently teaching Jayden how to fish. His personal best is already a 9lber that he caught this year.

What are some of your favorite baits?
My favorite bait is a Yamamoto Senko. Of all the baits out there, I’ve won the most money with the senko. There’s so many ways that you can fish it and it works everywhere. A close second is a crankbait.
What are your favorite lakes to fish?
The California Delta is by far my favorite place to fish. 2nd, any Northern CA fishery. I love facing new challenges and figuring out new lakes.
What are some of your favorite set-ups? (rod/line/hook)

I grew up with a flipping rod in my hand. So first, I’m going to go with a 806 Dobyns Flippin’ stick, paired with a 7: Daiwa Tatula SV with 70lb Daiwa Samurai Braid, 1/25oz weight with a Yamamto Cowboy on a 4/0 flipping hook.

2nd- Dobyns 736CB, 6:3:1 Daiwa Tatula SV, 20lb Fluoro, chatterbait with a Yamamoto Zako Trailer

3rd- Dobyns 742 spinning rod, Daiwa Luvias reel, 10lb braid to 8lb fluoro paired with a senko.
